Hari Kebangkitan Nasional
Kemarin, 20 Mei 2008, adalah hari kebangkitan nasional untuk bangsa Indonesia. I dont really know how people call the day... "National Awakening" sort of thing?
So, there was a extravagant event held to commemorate the "National Awakening" at Gelora Bung Karno. It had wonderful wonderful performances... traditional musics, arts, and dances from all over the regions. The event also presents the greatness of Indonesian forces.
Watching the whole event from my tv at home, I cried a little. What went wrong with this mighty country that it suffered corruption and poverty? What is left of us, Indonesian people, to be proud of? This nation, I believe, has it all to be one of the world's greatest - the wondrous arts, the overflowing natural resources, the vast majority of natural sceneries. It is up to us, the young generation, to make the best out of it. How? The question remains...
